The upcoming 2025 Spring Festival lineup is abuzz with excitement, featuring six major films, including Creation of the Gods II and Operation Leviathan, both produced at the Qingdao Film and Television Base. 

Reflecting on Spring Festival hits born at this base, from The Wandering Earth in 2019, to YOLO in 2024, each film's blend of critical acclaim and box office success serves as a testament to the burgeoning influence of the Qingdao Film and Television Base.

At the heart of the Qingdao Film and Television Base's development lies the China Movie Metropolis in Qingdao West Coast New Area. This establishment stands as China's pioneering heavy industrial film base, built to meet international standards right from its inception.

Encompassing 1.7 million square meters, the China Movie Metropolis features 40 internationally accredited studios, 32 set workshops, and essential hardware facilities like a digital audiovisual center and a cutting-edge film and television virtual shooting production platform. These resources provide robust support for the filming and production of sci-fi epics and industrial blockbusters, making it the top choice for producing Chinese films and fostering a legacy of cinematic excellence.

On April 28, 2024, the Northern Micro-dramas City commenced operations, leveraging the rich industrial film resources of Qingdao West Coast New Area. To date, the micro-drama city has undertaken the shooting of 106 projects, including 11 high-quality short films and 14 internationally acclaimed shorts.

In recent years, Qingdao West Coast New Area has placed significant emphasis on the development of the Qingdao Film and Television Base, with the number of film and television cultural enterprises in the new area reaching an impressive 1,098.
