Metropolis of Film augmented by online audiovisual development

The 2023 China Netcasting Creation Summit was held in the Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) from Aug 24 to 25.

This is the first national-level professional event in the online audiovisual industry that focuses on high-quality content production.

During the summit, discussions regarding topics like the integration of digital technology and reality were held. The event also featured an immersive intelligent audiovisual experience exhibition area, which showcased the metaverse, digital AI virtual images, AI-generated content, 5G high-tech videos, and VR/AR.

The Qingdao WCNA was chosen to host this event because of its convenient transportation, comprehensive facilities, cutting-edge audiovisual technology and first-class business environment.

The new area has positioned itself as the "Metropolis of Film" and has prioritized the growth of the film, television, and online audiovisual industries in recent years.

The Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, which was constructed by the Qingdao WCNA in 2013, has received over 300 billion yuan ($41.19 billion) in investments in film, television, and internet audiovisual industry projects over the last decade.

To date, the total box office revenue generated by films filmed in the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis has surpassed 25.6 billion yuan. Over the past three years, an average of over 60 film crews have been brought in annually, of which three-quarters are from the online audiovisual industry.
