The annual evaluation of the comprehensive performance of high-quality development of 10 districts and county-level cities in Qingdao city in 2021 ranked Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA) first.
In 2021, the GDP of Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA) reached 436.85 billion yuan ($68.88 billion), accounting for 30.9 percent of the city's total, a year-on-year increase of 10.3 percent.
The coastal city of Qingdao in East China's Shandong province will further its opening-up and high-quality development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).
In the first three quarters of this year, the GDP of Qingdao West Coast New Area achieved a high growth rate of 11.8 percent, which indicates its proportion of the city's total increased from 29.75 percent to 30.18 percent.
The new economy of the Qingdao West Coast New Area has witnessed vigorous development in recent years, local media reported.
