The international reputation of Qingdao as China's Capital of Sailing was promoted by 1,300 participants from 20 countries and regions participating in the 16-day Qingdao International Sailing Week.

The 3rd Qingdao International Sailing Week takes place Aug 20 to Sept 4 in Qingdao, Shandong province.

As an iconic regatta of Qingdao International Sailing Week, "Mayor's Cup" Qingdao International Sailing Regatta (Weihai - Qingdao) 2011 set off on Sept 2 in Weihai.

The third Qingdao International Sailing Week kicked off Saturday evening, and over 1,000 sailors around the world will compete here in five events in two weeks.

More than one thousand of the world's top sailors and coaches from about 20 countries and regions will compete in a series of sailing events along the coast of Qingdao.

The Extreme Sailing Series of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) will be held in east China's Qingdao city from April 13 to April 17, announced an official of the local organizing committee Tuesday.

About five hundred sailors from 14 countries and regions will compete in the Qingdao International Sailing Week.

Sailors from the Shanghai Fayi Club clinched the gold at the first China's City Clubs Regatta (CCOR) here on Thursday with a total of 11 net points, leading the Hong Kong FOJJ Club by eight points.

China's City Clubs Open Regatta (CCOR), a Grade I event of the International Sailing federation (ISAF), will be held from June 1 to 3 in Qingdao.
