Beer festival in Qingdao garners another intl award

The Qingdao International Beer Festival, held in Golden Beach Beer City of Qingdao West Coast New Area, recently became the only festival in Asia to be designated by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) as an Asian Festival and Night-time Economy Area of 2025.

Established in 1956, IFEA is the most authoritative and influential organization within the festival industry. Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, United States, it has eight branch offices globally, with over 3,000 professional member units and more than 50,000 associate members.

Since 2015, the Qingdao International Beer Festival has been held 10 times, achieving record highs in participant engagement, visitor satisfaction, international prominence, societal impact, economic stimulus, and media coverage. The festival is one of the world's top four most renowned beer festivals. 

The 34th Qingdao International Beer Festival in 2024 welcomed a cumulative total of 6.36 million visitors from both home and abroad, who consumed over 2,800 metric tons of beer. The festival's media reach exceeded 3.14 billion impressions, propelling the region's tourism sector to a revenue of 7.382 billion yuan ($1.02 billion).
