The Dream cruise liner boasts a total tonnage of 77,500 metric tons, 15 decks, and can accommodate up to 2,222 passengers. Originally setting sail in 1998, the vessel was rechristened as Dream in January 2023 and made its inaugural voyage to Qingdao in October 2024.

The maintenance operation represents Qingdao's first foray into the realm of high value-added cruise ship repairs, marking a significant leap forward for Shandong's high-end shipbuilding capabilities.
Established in 1898, China State Shipbuilding Corporation Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding stands as a foundational pillar of Qingdao's shipbuilding industry and a pioneering force within the sector. Presently, the company has a backlog of nearly 60 ship orders, with over 90 percent of them comprising eco-friendly vessel types, and select orders have already been scheduled for delivery as far out as 2029.
