Shinan district is taking center stage in Qingdao's push to become an international consumption hub, driven by its rich commercial heritage and forward-thinking planning. With the revival of Zhongshan Road's historic charm and the rise of Fushan Bay's premium business zone, Shinan is reshaping the consumer experience through upgraded offerings and immersive scenarios—placing the "first-launch economy" at its core.
Zhongshan Road, once a quiet memory of the past, has been reawakened with fresh vitality. A standout attraction is China's first 4D + AI digital tram, offering visitors an immersive journey through historic Qingdao. Cultural destinations like the Choc Choco Museum, the Ultraman Exhibition, and the Cuba Culture Center are drawing crowds with their creative, cross-cultural experiences.
In the first half of 2025 alone, Shinan district launched more than 24 new commercial and cultural projects. Historic alleys and newly revitalized streets are now home to diverse food offerings, original local brands, and interactive pop-up events. Three distinct commercial clusters—Zhongshan Road, Fushan Bay, and specialty malls—have become strong drivers of high-quality consumption.
With 54 new first stores added in 2024 and over 360 in total, Shinan district leads Shandong province in first-store concentration. Backed by strong policy support and an evolving retail ecosystem, it continues to attract global brands while deepening consumer loyalty.
