The 2025 Qingdao Chinese New Year Goods Festival was recently held in Shinan district to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Snake.
Featuring a grand market with over 300 varieties of specialty agricultural products from both Qingdao and collaborating regions in Gansu province, the festival welcomed guests with open arms.
The market not only boasted a wide array of Chinese New Year goods and bustling crowds, catering to the diverse needs of consumers, but also offered intangible heritage performances, fu character (representing happiness and good luck) giveaways, and other activities, making it the most vibrant and festive spot last weekend.
At the festival grounds, more than 50 booths displayed a diverse range of premium, fresh local specialties and unique healthy snacks, and even had a dedicated area showcasing products from the collaborating regions. The packaging bags and boxes at the booths were adorned with auspicious phrases, enveloping visitors in a rich Chinese New Year ambiance.
Of particular note was the vibrant and creative huabobo, a kind of decorative steamed bun that not only delighted people's palates but also served as a testament to the successful preservation of intangible cultural heritage.
