We recommend you start the city walk in the old downtown area at Silver Fish Alley, a century-old neighborhood at the intersection of Ningyang Road and Shoukang Road in Shinan district. Within the block, many traditional Qingdao courtyard buildings are preserved. It is a remnant of the city's history and of Qingdao's commercial ports during the early 20th century.

In the Dabao Island Cultural and Leisure District, you can appreciate the traditional courtyard-like Qingdao architecture and visit the former residences of important figures such as Lao She and Kang Youwei.
Taidong Pedestrian Street is a great place to experience Qingdao's nightlife and food.
