Qingdao's Shinan district in East China's Shandong province is renowned for its rich culture. Recently, five workshops in Shinan made Qingdao's intangible cultural heritage workshops list, and here are three of them for anyone who wants to have a glimpse of Shinan's workshop culture.
In 2020, Sunshi Aquilaria Culture (Qingdao) Co was founded to carry on the art of creating Sunshi aquilaria, an intangible cultural heritage. Currently, the company's business consists of not only the protection and promotion of the aquilaria making technique, but the further development of the technique and product sales.
In addition to plowing into the essence, Sun Yufeng, the inheritor of the technique also keeps trying to make it more accessible in everyday life. His joss-stick aquilaria has received warm welcome from not only professionals, but Qingdao residents.
