Covering an area of about 5.2 hectares and dotted with thriving vegetation, Tuandaoshan Park offers enviable natural and historical resources. It is located near the Jiaozhou Gulf and serves as one of the earliest sites set with barbettes in Qingdao.
The park received 36 million yuan ($5.02 million) for construction, and is expected to utilize comprehensive service functions that will enable residents to experience the local culture. At the same time, there are nine main areas in the park, including Rushi bookstore, the sea-wind-themed theatre and Hanxi garden.
The park was once in ill condition with run-down buildings and wild animals grazing in the field. However, Shinan implemented regulatory actions in September 2021, and in January, Shinan demolished 30 of the run-down buildings.
The construction of the park is expected to not only improve the environment, but the living conditions in the city, and has been well received by locals in the area. Nine other parks around Mt. Fufeng have been completed, and the 10th park is also currently under construction.
