A meeting with the goal of enhancing the tourism sector in Shinan district of Qingdao convened on Oct 21. The intention to create a favorable environment for living, working and visiting was made clear at the meeting.
In recent years, Shinan has enjoyed a growing reputation as a place of hills, bays and sea. In 2021, the A-level scenic spots in the district received 16.27 million tourists, an increase of 42 percent year-on-year.
The district has created six action plans for the next three years to generate high quality tourism, including revitalizing the old downtown area, enhancing scenic spots, maintaining tourism order, expanding sea tourism, developing new kinds of tourism, and enhancing infrastructure.
Shinan places an emphasis on the quality of tourism in addition to the upkeep and development of the city. Visitors can easily access the clear blue sea and sky while strolling around Shinan, which makes for a friendly environment. The district is currently focusing on developing its west side, a historical and cultural area, and its east side, a commercial area.
One of the most important events in Shinan this year is the rebuilding of the Qingdao Shangjieli brand and the protection and restoration of the old downtown using "5A" scenic spot construction requirements.
The Shangjieli Beer Festival, which took place in July, serves as an illustration of how to preserve historical sites while enhancing tourism. Due to the advent of several cutting-edge technologies, Shinan will soon host the first old downtown metaverse in China.
