According to the notice published on Aug 25, 16 institutions in Qingdao's Shinan district have been listed as the city's technology innovation centers. The number has doubled year-on-year.

Based on such a feat, the district's science and technology bureau will continue to give full play to the guiding role of the 20 policies that are designed to help these centers maintain their innovation momentum.

Enterprises are expected to continue leading the way in technological innovation and industrial upgrading, while the bureau is expected to encourage more enterprises to invest more in improving their innovation ability to win the municipal government's recognition. 

A new platform is planned to be built with its aggressive competitiveness, which is expected to lay foundations for serving as a provincial or even national model.

To create an engine of economic development, the local government will lead the way to connect universities and research institutions with enterprises and the market, which will efficiently put technology into use.
