Fushanzhi Road (or branch of Fushan Road) is a unique space in Qingdao's Shinan district.
It looks like the Chinese character "人" on a map, connecting Wendeng Road in the south and parts into two branches – one ending on Fushan Road and the other ending on Yushan Road.
The road has many things to offer, including creative decorations like rainbow steps, exotic restaurants and artistic cafes.
The most famous natural attraction is Xiaoyu Hill Park on No 24 Fushanzhi Road. While walking along a winding stone path, one can reach the top of the hill in less than 10 minutes.
Despite its low altitude, the hill offers a good view of surrounding scenery.

Another highlight of Fushanzhi Road is its cultural ambience that's endowed with many cultural celebrities' former residences.
For example, at the start of the road stands two structures, one being the former residence of Kang Youwei, a renowned scholar and political reformer during China's Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and the other being the former residence of Song Chunfang (1892-1938), a famous playwright and one of China's first scholars of modern plays.
Kang's former residence was built in 1899 and has been transformed into a memorial hall of Kang, which collects his calligraphy works and other cultural relics.
Song actually built a library in his former home, gathering close to 10,000 play-related books. It is praised for being both a witness to and the pinnacle of Qingdao's thriving cultural sector in the 1930s.
Now the building has become a homestay that still preserves its historical cultural vibe.
