Shinan district's science and technology bureau hosted an innovative enterprises matchmaking conference on July 25 at the 1907 Film Museum – a sub-venue of the first Shangjieli Beer Festival, which is currently underway and will run until July 31.

Eleven innovative enterprises from around the country that specialize in sci-tech services, the industrial internet, artificial intelligence, new-type consumption, digital culture and tourism, and financial technology attended the event to seek cooperation opportunities with 18 Shinan-based enterprises.

Shinan continues to make focusing on sci-tech innovation and cultivating innovative enterprises a priority, and the local government plans to double the number of sci-tech enterprises in five years and cultivate a number of unicorn and gazelle enterprises.

The district currently has 10 ocean-related sci-tech research institutes and universities above the provincial level, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Oceanology and the Ocean University of China, 175 key laboratories and technological innovation centers above the municipal level, 422 small and medium-sized sci-tech enterprises, and 233 high-tech enterprises.

Holding the matchmaking conference at the historical block was meant to bring the innovative power to vitalize the economic and industrial development in the area, officials said.

Officials said that the local government plans to set up an innovative enterprises' club and host innovative products release conferences to provide a bigger platform for these enterprises to showcase their products and technologies and promote exchanges and sharing resources.
