Strengthening brand building is an important measure to implement the new development philosophy, foster a new development paradigm and strive to achieve high-quality development, according to Qingdao officials.
Qingdao, a city of brand names, boasts many well-known products and has been ramping up efforts to promote brand construction. On June 25, the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal People's Congress decided to designate July 17 as "Qingdao Brand Day" annually.
The establishment of Qingdao Brand Day will strengthen brand construction in an all-round way. It is also of great significance for Qingdao to speed up the construction of a modern industrial pioneer city and achieve high-quality economic development, according to local officials.
The 2022 Qingdao Brand Day is organized by the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, under the theme of "City and Brands Grow Together".

A think tank for Qingdao brand construction was inaugurated at the launch ceremony. Fifteen Qingdao enterprises issued the Declaration of Action to Build World-class Enterprises in Qingdao, and awarded the new generation of "Qingdao Golden Flower" cultivation enterprises.
During his speech, Geng Tao, vice-mayor of Qingdao, said that Qingdao will promote the stepwise cultivation of brands, focus on competitive industries, give full play to the exemplary and leading role of brand enterprises, improve the quality and upgrading of brands, and give new vitality to old brands.
Focusing on virtual reality, integrated circuit, new display, biomedicine and other emerging fields, Qingdao will establish the echelon of brand creation and cultivation, and create more emerging brands, Geng added.
Lin Yifu, dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University, as well as six other scholars and experts and representatives of well-known domestic enterprises made keynote speeches during the opening ceremony.
The 2022 Qingdao Brand Day consists of a dazzling array of activities in six categories such as brand promotion, brand release, sales promotion, and brand protection lectures to boost local brand construction.
