Shinan holds China-South Korea Economic Cooperation Forum

The second China-South Korea Economic Cooperation Forum was held in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province on July 6. It was the second time that Shinan hosted the event.
Nearly 100 representatives from Chinese and South Korean government departments, business associations and enterprises attended the forum to discuss economic and trade cooperation under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.
Yu Yantao, deputy chief of Shinan, delivered a speech to promote the district's business environment.
Yu said Shinan district and South Korea face each other across the sea and have geographical advantages to boost cooperation. In 2021, Shinan's import and export volumes with South Korea totaled $640 million, up 59.5 percent year-on-year.
Yu added that Shinan is looking forward to deepening cooperation with South Korea in fields such as carbon neutrality, electronics, information technology and biomedicine to further mutual benefits.
Other activities were also held, including the Shandong-South Korea Industrial Cooperation Matchmaking Fair, the South Korea excellent commodity exhibition, and an online live broadcast competition.
