Shinan district in Qingdao was recognized as one of Shandong's top 10 counties (county-level cities and districts) for health and nursing-themed tourism during the Shandong Tourism Development Conference on June 26.

With a pleasant climate, enchanting coastal scenery and profound culture, Shinan has huge health and nursing-themed tourism development potential.

The district is home to 46 of 53 major scenic areas in Qingdao, and more than 40 percent of cultural protection units and historical buildings are located in the area.

The iconic Badaguan scenic area, which is famed for its picturesque scenery featuring red roofs, green trees, clear skies, and blue seas, has 236 garden villas and Western-style buildings, and is dubbed a "world expo of architecture".

Fifty-eight celebrities' former residences and two of "China historical and cultural streets" are also located in Shinan district.

In addition, Shinan boasts solid healthcare and recuperation industry development, with a total of 587 medical, nursing, and non-medical health preservation institutions.

As the core area of Qingdao, which is a renowned tourist destination, Shinan's well-developed tourism industry boasts complete facilities and high-quality services.

There are two luxury hotels and 23 star-level hotels and homestays in the district, including five five-star hotels and two five-star homestays.
