An office building cultural and art carnival kicked off in Shinan district, Qingdao on May 20 and will run until July, according to the district culture and tourism bureau.

During the event, an array of cultural performances, creative cultural bazaars, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, free art lectures and experiencing events will be held in office building clusters across the district.

During the opening ceremony, employees at the New 100 Creative Culture Industry Park were treated to six categories of activities, which included a fashion show featuring new-style traditional Chinese garments, a handicraft bazaar, and a livestream of online celebrities touring the park.

In addition, renowned musicians in Qingdao were invited to perform rock and roll, electronic and folk music to create a fun and romantic ambience in celebration of day "520", which sounds like "I love you" in Chinese.

A feast of drinks, coffee, creative dishes, barbecues and desserts were also offered, and local sugar ball experts practiced the intangible cultural heritage technique on-site.
