Qingdao held a special conference on the preservation and renewal of historic urban areas on March 29.

The conference emphasized the necessity of preserving, requisitioning, reconstructing, and repairing historical and cultural property.

Shinan has stepped up its efforts to renovate old urban districts in recent years.

Zhongshan Road, an ancient street crowded with enterprises, is an example of how historical urban development may be preserved and renewed while also incorporating business renovation, infrastructure construction, and overall environmental enhancement.

According to the conference, a total of 13 historical and cultural blocks such as Sifang Road have been included into the project list of urban renewal and urban construction sites in Shinan.
