Despite the recent resurgence of COVID-19 cases, local authorities in Qingdao's Shinan district are making every effort to ensure a consistent supply of everyday essentials.
To maintain adequate supplies and stable prices, the district's commerce bureau has established a daily monitoring mechanism for local food supplies, including rice, flour, meat, vegetables, eggs, and milk.
"We have enough storage for all kinds of daily necessities, and we replenish our stock with five to six trucks each day to meet people's purchasing needs," stated a local RT-Mart manager surnamed Li.
Other retailers, including Hema Fresh and Carrefour, have indicated that they have increased their efforts to meet consumer demands, both online and offline.
Due to the ongoing outbreak, a local resident surnamed Zhang said she wanted to stock up on food like veggies and meat so she wouldn't have to go out as much.
In response to customers' worries and to avoid crowding, many local supermarkets have started offering door-to-door delivery services.
