Jan 5 coincided with  Minor Cold (Chinese: 小寒), the 23rd solar term of  the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, which is divided  into 24 solar terms.

Shinan district in Qingdao in East China's Shandong province staged a series of entertaining diversions, enabling residents to experience intangible cultural heritage or ICH items through displays and offering activities involving handcrafts, traditional food, and much more, according to local media reports.

Homemade sewing, lollipop making, clay figurine sculpting, guqin (a seven-string traditional Chinese instrument), solar term knowledge lecture, and Chinese ancient poetry wowed participants during the event.
