The Shinan district – located in Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – is boosting its system to facilitate international commerce and trade.
In a bid to expand exchanges and foreign trade, Shinan has undertaken measures to enhance international business exchanges.
The initiative was about promoting the expansion and improving the quality of market consumption, expanding effective investments and enhancing the levels of internationalization in Shinan district, according to local media reports on Nov 29.
The district is focusing on the Japanese and South Korean trade sector and is said to be exploring new approaches in international cooperation.
The Shinan District Bureau of Commerce recently signed the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, or RCEP – a huge Asian trading bloc – to promote the integrated development of the region.
In addition, the China-South Korea Culture and Commodity Week was launched in the district in mid-November.
As an important part of the event, the China-South Korea Commodity Fair was staged in the Qingdao Jinmaowan Shopping Center in the city on Nov 11-13.
The culture and commodity week is expected to help enable South Korean enterprises to integrate further into the Chinese market. It is also seen as helping to promote in-depth exchanges between China and South Korea in the fields of the economy, trade and culture.
Since the start of the year, the Shinan District Commerce Bureau has reportedly visited a large number of foreign-funded enterprises. It has provided matchmaking services for relevant municipal government departments or local enterprises, helping foreign companies to expand their business.
