The Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province aims to add more new urban jobs – as well as to conduct skills training for the underemployed who are engaging in new forms and models of businesses – according to local media reports on Oct 27.
Hit by the impact of COVID-19, traditional offline recruitment programs couldn't satisfy the hiring needs of local enterprises and job seekers – with online recruitment reportedly stepping in to tap the ample job opportunities and become a crucial means to expand the workforce.
The district is said to have created 36,621 new jobs to date, with 25,438 new hires in various capacities supporting an estimated 3,400 people to start up their own businesses. What's more, the district has trained 64,255 unemployed people, college graduates and company employees.
Moreover, 12 live-streaming activities have been staged, involving the participation of 23 local enterprises. Some 251 employment positions were offered during the live streaming, attracting 12,038 people to watch and interact, as well as to submit 354 resumes online.
In addition, Shinan is also understood to be committed to the implementation of "one-to-one" and "point-to-point" targeted employment programs – providing one-stop reemployment services for training, jobs and recommendations.
"The Shinan government is offering a job-seeking brochure, which is easy to refer to, so job seekers can directly scan the QR code to learn about the policies. This is really useful," said Jiang Wenbo, from
the incubation base and trade union in Shinan.
