A symposium on the "Digital Storehouse in China – Qingdao Station" was held in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province on Oct 15, according to local media reports.
The event attracted the participation of about 50 companies – including the world's biggest integrated shipping group China Ocean Shipping Corporation, or COSCO and Chinese tech giant Tencent Cloud – to discuss the main topic: "digital supply chain infrastructure construction, to promote the high-quality development of modern trading circulation."
So far, more than 3,000 shipping logistics enterprises have settled in Shinan. The district has attracted more than 90 percent of Qingdao's shipping companies, more than 70 percent of its shipping logistics enterprises and one-third of its 5A-grade logistics companies. To top it off, the total number of A-grade logistics enterprises now in the district ranks first in the city.
In the first half of 2021, the revenue of companies above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million ($3.1 million) or more – in the transportation, storage and postal sectors in the region reached 29.76 billion yuan.
That performance represented a 99 percent year-on-year increase, ranking it first in both volume and growth in the city.
