Shinan broadens cooperation with Bergen

That's in the wake of the Friendly Cooperation Meeting and the Promotion Meeting of the Carbon Solution Project of Bergen, which took place on Sept 14 between the cities at the SCO Member Technology Transfer Center of Shanghai, located in the Shinan district of Qingdao.
The meeting involved the participation of Yan Shi, the deputy director of Shinan and Erik Solheim, president of the Belt and Road Initiative Green Development Institute and former executive director of the United Nation Environment Program – as well as representatives from Norwegian and Chinese companies, among others.
Solheim gave a briefing on the responsibilities and objectives of the institute. Currently, countries around the world are actively promoting the development of green industry, in which China is playing an ever more important role, he added.
Both Qingdao and Bergen reportedly see great potential in their cooperation and Solheim expressed his willingness to provide assistance to further promote Sino-Norwegian relations.
Shinan is set to integrate its marine science and technology resources with those of Norway and Northern Europe.
