A seminar – themed on "New Species and the New Economy of the Industrial Internet" – was held at the SCO Member Technology Transfer Center of Shanghai, in Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province, according to local media reports on Sept 1.

The event is understood to have focused on the local plan to attract new species of industrial internet enterprises to Shinan – as well as high-tech industrial internet companies operating in such areas as high-end software, artificial intelligence and big data.

The seminar was reportedly livestreamed, attracting more than 460,000 people who followed it online.  

Among those participating were 20 leading software brands and 20 top software enterprises in Qingdao. High-end industrial internet enterprises operating in Shinan are understood to account for more than 30 percent of the sector in Qingdao city.
