Shinan eyes closer economic cooperation with South Korea

Shinan district in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province helped organize the Sino-Korean Economic Cooperation Forum, which was held in Qingdao on July 28, looking to forge closer economic and trade ties with South Korea.
More than 280 government officials, entrepreneurs, and economists from China and South Korea participated in the high-level forum.
At a meeting focusing on the development policies in the two countries, Xin Minzhi, deputy director of Shinan district, gave an overview on the district's development situation, advantages, as well as its latest economic and trade policies. Xin added that Shinan hopes to share resources and explore business opportunities with South Korean companies through the district's international business service center.
Nine companies located in Shinan, including Qingdao Hiking Automobile Trade Co and Qingdao China Stone Industry Service Co, attended an online matchmaking session with South Korean enterprises to explore business cooperation opportunities. A number of industry-leading companies, such as Haier, Hisense, and Hyundai Motor, shared their experiences in Sino-Korean cooperation.
More sideline events, including a seminar on the introduction of smart manufacturing and a meeting concerning Shandong-South Korea industrial cooperation, also took place during the forum.
