The International (Qingdao) Percussion Performance Center was unveiled in Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province on July 30.
The performance center is sponsored by the Shinan government and the Shanghai Percussion Association, who signed an agreement on the same day to cooperate in percussion-related performances, education, research, as well as cultural exchanges.
In addition to holding percussion competitions and concerts, the performance center is expected to play a significant role in cultivating artistic talents, creating works of art, as well as holding lectures and musical instrument exhibitions. It also plans to organize an international percussion festival every year, aiming to build a platform where artists from across the world can exchange views on performance and instrument design.
Shinan district will make full use of the center to hold a variety of cultural and art activities, as well as promote the integrated development of the music and tourism industries.
