The Shinan district of Qingdao city – located in East China's Shandong province – expanding moves to promote sports in its significant education sector, which boasts 36 public compulsory education schools with 44,700 students and 2,855 teaching and administrative staff members.  

Shandong province, in recent years, has promoted preschool education, built itself up as a compulsory education demonstration zone and advanced the quality education of the Shinan district.  

It's understood that Shinan has always prioritized student sports and given full play to the guiding role of the local government. In the past three years, the cumulative investment reached nearly 30 million yuan ($4.63 million) for the development of sports there on campus.
