A slew of events including a commendation conference and cultural performances were recently held in Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, according to local media on June 30.
Zhang Chuanying and 10 other Party members were awarded commemorative medals celebrating "a glorious 50 years for the Party" during the commendation conference.
Additionally, a big choral concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC brought strong voices and palpable excitement on June 13 to Wusi Square (literally May Fourth Square) in mid-June.
"The history of Qingdao's urban development originated in Shinan district, and has always been closely linked with the history of the Party, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics," said a Shinan authority.
