Qingdao's Shinan district hosts round-table business conference

A high-powered business roundtable conference on economic development in China's East Shandong province was held on May 27 in the Shinan district of Qingdao city, located in the region.
Officials from local authorities discussed how Shinan could advance the development of the Fushan Bay international fashion business district. They also considered how to upgrade consumer spending patterns and accelerate the build-out of its digital business ecosystem.
In terms of boosting the overall shopping spend there, Shinan plans to integrate and upgrade the Fushan Bay precinct, accelerate the recovery of the Zhongshan Road business district, help with the revitalization of leading and established brands, incentivize international-renowned brands to locate there and create a new landmark fashion sector.
Wang Zhigang, deputy director of the Qingdao Bureau of Commerce, said that digital empowerment and marketing were the essential tools in the current business development of Qingdao.
The city would continue to optimize its business environment and government and business would work with the metropolis to promote the high-quality development of urban commerce, Wang added.
