In recent years, the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province has made great efforts to develop its fashion industry -- including creative design, cultural media, film and television, animation and other areas of endeavor.
Serving as the core area of Qingdao, Shinan is at the forefront of the city's developing industry. Officials said that with the focus on its vision of creating a vibrant and dynamic modern international city, Shinan is vigorously developing its industrial sector.
Last year, Qingdao was selected as one of "China's Top 20 Cities in the Nighttime Economy" at the 2020 China Night Economic Forum.
According to the taskforce deployed to boost its nighttime economy and build a fashionable city, Shinan innovatively developed a 24-hour bookstore, late-night dining hall, staged evening arts performances, established music bars, coffee bars and introduced other after-dark ventures.
According to the dialect of Sichuan province, the word for feeling tipsy sounds like "erma", so since its opening on Nov 18 last year, the Erma Pub in the Chinastone 37th Park in Qingdao has been full to the rafters every evening, with pub lovers waiting in line until the early hours of the morning.
Moving forwards, officials said Shinan will do all it can to speed up the resumption of the nighttime economy, to meet escalating public demand.
