In January, the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province launched a group of art-related activities to entertain the locals.

New generation of American Figurative Painting Exhibition

W Art Foundation, in partnership with the Tong Art Advisory, brought an exhibition of paintings by six leading young American artists to the Qingdao Art Museum in January. Six artists -- Jonny Negron, Alex Becerra, Van Hanos, Marcus Jahmal, Tanya Merrill and Orion Martin -- are all making their debut in China.

Their 20 works will present a "new generation of American Figurative Painting", along with leading artist Jonny Negron's first solo exhibition in China, called the "Blue Dream" and the "New Nouveau", according to the organizers.
