The year 2020 was a decisive year to win the battle of pollution prevention and control in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province. The Party committee and municipal government of Shinan attached great importance to ecological and environmental protection and resolutely undertook the three major battles of protecting the blue sky, clear water and the land.

Carried out comprehensive air pollution prevention, control work and improved quality of air environment

Shinan has strictly implemented regulations and measures rolled out for air pollution prevention.

The district established an air quality monitoring WeChat group, released real-time data of town and street monitoring sub-stations twice daily and expeditiously dealt with problems. It did so last year, by scheduling comprehensive prevention and control monitoring of air pollution, organized and held key work scheduling meetings on the environment every two months and planned and prioritized related work.

Achieve excellent job in soil solid waste safety management, soil environment stability and safety

Shinan diligently implemented critical measures, including the Shinan District Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Work Plan. It completed all the soil pollution prevention and control targets set by the Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Target Responsibility Letter, endorsed by the Qingdao municipal government.
