With the introduction and successful implementation of diligent novel coronavirus prevention and control measures, the nightlife of Shinan district -- in Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – has fully returned to normal, with bustling traffic, as well as thriving night markets, food stalls and cafes.
Shinan is the most active area of the night economy in Qingdao, playing host to nearly 20 large shopping malls, more than 2,000 catering facilities, nearly 100 music bars and other after-dark venues.
Business precincts -- including Qingdao Mixc and Zhongshan Road business district -- boast a huge number of bars and cafes, making the district the city's most fashionable, dynamic after-dark scene. Local residents also consider it to be an ideal place to go and chill out at night.
TSINGTAO 1903 Pub
Chinese beer brewing giant Tsingtao Brewery Co Ltd was the first of its kind to try out the bar business in Qingdao. As early as 2014, the company opened a bar. Recently, its flagship store – the TSINGTAO 1903 Club, on 38 Hong Kong Middle Road in Shinan -- made its debut and became the 200th store in the retail business model.
Erma Pub
According to the dialect in Sichuan province, the word for feeling tipsy sounds like "erma", so since its opening on Nov 18 last year, the Erma Pub in the Chinastone 37th Park in Qingdao has been full to the rafters every day, with pub lovers waiting in line until the early hours of the morning.
Moving forwards, officials said Shinan will do all it can to speed up the resumption of the nighttime economy, to meet the escalating public demand.
