Shinan district moves to upgrade its industries

Shinan district -- in Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – is busy upgrading its industries among a raft of other measures, according to local officials.
The move comes in the wake of Dec 28, 2020, when the 10th Plenary Session of the 13th CPC Shinan District Committee was held, centering on the formulation of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for Shinan's industrial updates.
New development target: to accelerate the core area construction of a modern international metropolis
Under the plan, it is proposed that Shinan formally pursue the goal of speeding up the construction of the core area of a modern international metropolis.
New strategy: to establish functional areas
Shinan is planning to establish four functional areas -- a pilot zone for its transformation and development, a leading fashion precinct, a municipal governance area and a demonstration area for the quality of life of residents.
What will Shinan do in 2021?
Shinan will vigorously implement a project to upgrade its industries and strive to make major advances in its economic development. Highlighting the leading role of the headquarters economy, Shinan will rely on tech-savvy and high-quality business carriers such as the Haitian Center to make progress. The district will make greater efforts to attract the headquarters of multinational companies, the world's top 500 and China's top 500 companies, central enterprises and the regional headquarters of listed companies. It wil also push to attract more than 10 regional headquarters (institutions), to build a headquarters base for multinationals.
In terms of furthering the digital economy, Shinan will attract and cultivate new forms of services in the sector. It will accelerate the transformation of software parks and animation parks into digital parks, strengthen the construction of a digital society and digital government, as well as create a new ecosystem for the development of the digital economy.
In terms of expanding consumer expenditure, the district will integrate and upgrade its Fushan Bay international fashion high-end business district, accelerate the recovery of the Zhongshan Road business district, accelerate the revitalization of leading and established brands, attract world-renowned brands to locate there and create a new landmark fashion sector.
Additionally, Shinan will vigorously implement a project to improve its public services and strive to make progress in establishing areas that provide livelihoods for its residents.
