Qingdao Experimental Primary School – located in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – was recently recognized as being a National Civilized Campus, according to local officials.
The prestigious appellation is the second time a Shinan district school has been so honored. In the first list of national civilized campuses, announced by the Ministry of Education and the Civilization Office of the CPC Central Committee in 2017, Shinan's Qingdao Jiayuguan School was given the honorary title.
Officials said Qingdao Experimental Primary School, which was founded in 1901, adheres to the fundamental goal of "cultivating morality and educating people", based on the educational philosophy of "cultivating modern Chinese people". They said it relies on its century-old tradition and focuses on the development of students, while steadily promoting a civilized campus.
