The 14th China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Forum took place on Dec 20 via an online video telecast, according to the organizers.
They said that during the event Juhua Group Corporation from Quzhou city – located in East China's Zhejiang province signed an important investment agreement with Japanese companies Marubeni Corporation and JGC Corporation.
Juhua has previously done business with Marubeni and JGC and this time the agreement concerned the construction of a low carbonization plant for hydrogen by-products. Officials said the plant was commissioned and approved by NEDO, the national research and development body in Japan.
The proposed plant will use hydrogen by-products and renewable energy to produce hydrogen, carbon dioxide emissions and low carbonization, to achieve a clean industrial production process.
The three parties will also jointly set up a hydrogen energy research institute to attract outstanding talent from China and Japan.
It will focus on and integrate Japan's advanced technologies and resources in the industry supply chain for hydrogen energy and will create a factory model that will lead to more such plants being established in the future.
Juhua Group Corporation was established in May 1958 under the name Quzhou Chemical Factory. In August 1984, it changed its name to Quzhou Chemical Corporation and subsequently the then State Economic and Trade Commission approved another name change to Quzhou Chemical Corporation Juhua Group in 1993.
In May 2017, this was upgraded to Juhua Group Corporation.
