Shinan holds intl youth business start-up contest

Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, held a youth business start-up competition among member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Dec 10, according to local media.
More than 10 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including Russia, India, Iran, and Israel, also participated in the event, which consisted of more than 500 projects. Twelve projects qualified for the finals.
On the afternoon of Dec 11, the first-place prize was awarded to the SediMag Magnetic-Coagulation-Sedimentation Wastewater Treatment Technology Project after an online "roadshow" and evaluations by professional judges.
Two projects from Russia and Norway won the second-place prize and three projects from Italy, Pakistan, and Serbia won the third-place prize.
