A concert entitled "Four Seasons in Qindao· Autumn" was successfully held by the Qingdao Musicians Association at the Qingdao Concert Hall in Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province on Nov 13.
The concert, combining Chinese and Western elements, kicked off with a brilliant performance by the Bajun Chamber Orchestra. The lute and psaltery were in perfect harmony, while traditional Chinese instruments like the pipa (a four-stringed lute) and guzheng (Chinese zither) brought the performance to new heights.
Next in the program was the piano duet Masked Waltz, which filled the hall with an endless stream of elegant melodies. A fragment of the opera Bat, a flute trio in G Minor, along with a chorus of nostalgic songs led to bursts of applause from the audience.
Lastly, the song My Motherland, played by the band and composed by Ren An, vice chairman of Qingdao Music Association, brought all the performers together for a chorus, bringing the concert to a successful close.
Qindao Island (also called Harp Island) is a well-known landmark in Qingdao. It is located in Qingdao Bay at the mouth of Jiaozhou Bay and covers an area of 2.47 square kilometers.
