The 2020 Qingdao Shinan Entrepreneurs Conference – with its theme of "Gathering in Shinan for a Better Future" -- was held in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province on Nov 10, according to local officials.

The event attracted the participation of more than 260 entrepreneurs from all walks of life, including governmental officials and experts from scientific research institutes and industry think tanks.

Gao Jian, the district's deputy secretary, announced 20 new policies during the event, to attract investment and recruit expertise -- to boost the district's economic development.

Gao said nine of the policies cover subsidies  for economic development contributions, seven reward industrial development and four policies involve the recruitment of talent.

There are altogether nine specific measures that aim to boost economic development, local officials said.

These include subsidies for investment promotions, enterprise management teams, key enterprises and growth-oriented enterprises.

There are also subsidies for the purchase and lease of office buildings, improvements to foreign trade and commerce, as well as subsidies for the introducers of new projects.

There are altogether seven items for industrial development, including those involving corporate headquarters, fashion, finance, science and technology.

There are four awards for recruitment, including the awards for high-level talent and entrepreneurial talent, officials added.
