The founding ceremony and first assembly of the Shinan District Qingdao Artists Association was held in Shinan district, Qingdao in East China's Shandong province on Oct 29.

The event elected 34 board members and 19 presidium members. Yuan Qianben was elected as chairman of the presidium of the first session of the association.

The Qingdao Artists Association will make efforts to improve the fine arts and cultural communication as well as gather talent from home and abroad.

Wang Shaobo, honorary chairman of the association, expressed his hope that the vast number of artists and those working in the art industry will make efforts to preserve and promote the development of fine arts in Shinan district and Qingdao as a whole.
