The 2020 Qingdao Innovation Festival kicked off in Qingdao, Shandong province on Oct 28.

At the opening ceremony, Shinan district in Qingdao signed a contract focusing on science and technology related to aging and longevity with Qingdao Yuanjia Shengding Holding Co Ltd and Haiyin (Tianjin) Equity Investment Management Co Ltd.

The project will be carried out in Shinan and will vigorously promote the development of strategic emerging industries in Qingdao, introduce science and technology projects related to aging and longevity, and establish an industrial ecosystem for said science and technology.

"To promote the development of strategic emerging industries in Qingdao, Haiyin will boost the development of science and technology, with a specific focus on aging and longevity, and establish an environmentally-friendly science and technology industry," said a person in charge from Haiyin

Technology designed to effectively extend the life expectancy of human beings has been becoming increasingly prevalent around the world in recent years.

According to local officials, the city attaches great importance to science, technology and innovation and will adhere to an innovation-driven development strategy, promote entrepreneurship and innovation and foster sustained economic development.
