The founding ceremony for the Shinan We Media Association was held in Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, on Sept 30.
The event was attended by more than 100 well-known representatives of "We Media" from throughout Qingdao, including people from the Qingdao Municipal Network and Information Office, the Qingdao Municipal Network Police Detachment, and Shinan leaders.
Liu Guangzhe, president of the association, delivered his inaugural speech at the event: "Members of the Shinan We Media Association represent the majority of social 'we media' leaders in Qingdao and boast a large number of influential 'we media' accounts with strong credibility. Under the leadership of the government of Shinan district, we will build an open-platform 'we media' matrix and develop an influential 'we media' city balcony with Shinan, so as to better tell Shinan's story and act as the voice of Qingdao."
Kong Zhaofeng, deputy secretary of the Office of the Shinan Cyberspace Affairs Commission, said that after the establishment of the "we media" association, Shinan will further deepen its connections, increase the coordinated development of channels, promote all forms of media and system development, pursue the development of media convergence and stronger mainstream public opinion, and consolidate the party's ideological work.
"We will help guide public opinion, highlight the value of the 'we media' era, increase consensus among netizens, pool development strength, and serve as a bridge between the Party committee and the government and netizens," Kong added.
