A six-minute short panoramic film lays out the famous ancient painting, Qingming Shanghe Tu or Along the River During the Tomb Sweeping Festival is a highlight of the Forbidden City Cultural and Creative Store of Qingdao during August.
Along the River During the Qingming Festival, which was painted by Zhang Zeduan during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), vividly depicts life along the banks of the Bianhe River, which flows through Bianliang, the capital city of the dynasty and today's Kaifeng in Henan province.
The scroll painting features more than 800 people doing various activities. Farmers are sowing seeds in the fields, people are walking in the streets, sweeping graves and eating. Children are flying kites, merchants are selling goods, workers are driving carts, officials are riding horses and women are walking with baskets in hand.
At the exit, a facial recognition machine can display faces from the painting and tell the viewer what the occupation of that person from the Northern Song Dynasty was.
Isn't that amazing? Would you like to test your career in the Northern Song Dynasty?
