Shinan focuses on COVID-19 economic recovery

Shinan district in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, has rolled out a series of measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and help post-pandemic economic recovery, according to a news conference held by the information office of the Qingdao municipal government July 13.
Gao Jian, the head of Shinan district, briefed the media about the positive results that have been achieved since the beginning of 2020.
Replacing old growth drivers with new ones and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading
The district promoted nine key sea-related projects with total investment of 40.47 billion yuan ($5.8 billion), introduced more than one sea-related service industry project with investment of more than one billion yuan, and fostered a sea-related enterprise with an operating income of more than five billion yuan.
Shinan introduced five listed companies from their northern headquarters this year and 30 new regional headquarters enterprises were established to set up 10 "100-million-yuan buildings".
Boosting consumption and building a central area of international consumption hotspots
Shinan has launched innovative shopping models such as cloud livestreams, developed cross-border business models such as "online + offline", "commodities + services" and "retail + experience".
Additionally, the district improved night economy planning, and created five brands of nighttime economy with different styles at large squares in Shinan. It also provided tax relief and support to attract enterprises and individuals to participate in the construction of the "night economy" hotspot.
