Over 460 enterprises and individuals in Shinan district, Qingdao, were honored for their outstanding contributions to attracting talent and investment, technological innovation, and industrial development last year. They received a total of 190 million yuan ($26.73 million).

This year, more Shinan enterprises were awarded than ever before. Many local enterprises, including Tsingtao Brewery Co, Sonli Group, Qingdao Topscomm Communication Co, and Bondex Supply Chain Management Co, received the award.

In recent years, the district has prioritized economic development and put forward 10 supporting policies to boost the headquarters economy and finance industry. 

A number of promising enterprises are currently operating in the district, including Qingdao Jindong Digital Technology Co and Qingdao Clear Environmental Group Co. The district also introduced 14 new innovative technological centers and 72 high-tech enterprises last year. Nine of the enterprises were listed among the top 20 most competitive logistics enterprises in the city.

In 2019, the district had a regional GDP of 121.75 billion yuan and generated 66 billion yuan in total retail sales of consumer goods.

The district is working to build itself into an international center of the regional headquarters economy, trade, finance, transportation, and fashion, and hopes to cultivate 10 new industrial chains worth 10 billion yuan each.
