An immersive publicity center involving garbage sorting has recently been constructed and opened to the public in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province. The center is the first of its kind in the province to be built by a local property management company.

The regulations on garbage sorting have been officially implemented in Qingdao since January 2020. Qingdao Huaren Property Management Co then decided to set up a publicity center in an effort to promote garbage sorting around the city.

Through vivid explanations and pictures, the center showcases the importance of garbage sorting, common methods of garbage disposal, lifecycles of various kinds of garbage and sorting guidance.

Handicrafts made of recycled plastic bottles are on display at the exhibition area, and the wall showing lifecycles of garbage is decorated with waste materials, in line with the concept of recycling.

Several games also help visitors master the garbage categories and stimulate their interest in garbage sorting. People who win the games can write down their names and messages, and will gain certificates of honor.

In addition, projection and virtual reality technology allow visitors to have immersive experiences of garbage sorting.
