A light show will be held at Fushan Bay in Qingdao, Shandong province on the evening of May 12. The event is meant to honor local medics and celebrate the 109th International Nurses Day.

More than 40,000 medical workers are currently serving the city's residents, inspired by the spirits of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Many of them have been serving on the frontlines in the fight against the coronavirus.

This evening, many famous buildings throughout the province will light up in their honor.
